You d...Aly, you and the skirt are both so gorgeous! You did a fabulous job, and I love the color of the skirt. I have one that's totally identical only the polka-dot tulle is black and the silk lining is tan! I got it for $3 dollars at Wet Seal (absolutely can't resist spilling about a super good deal. Lol.) Skirts like that are so comfortable and versatile.

Thank you very much for sharing a tutorial on this. It's easy to follow, so I'm excited that I might even be able to tackle this one. I have a whole box of multiple colors of tulle (have been dying to make a big, fluffy skirt from it) but I hate having to go find a lining to work underneath, so I probably won't until I come across some kind of old, shabby dress that's too hideous to wear or something & just cut the lining out of it to use. LOL.

However, your tutorial is too awesome. I'll have to try making one asap so maybe I'll try it using a fabric instead so that it won't require a lining. It's just that we really don't have many fabrics to choose from in my area. Even the closest Walmart is lacking severely in the fabric department. I do love Joann (although the nearest one to me is an hour away) so next time I just happen to be around Joann, I'll try to find a lining. I've noticed, though, that a lot of the silk (and even jersey knits) lining fabrics are still see-through in light! I've had many disappointments with dresses due to this.

I'll send you a photo of the one I make using just fabric, though! I'm so excited. It's rare that I find a sewing tutorial that I actually have the skills to even attempt. Lol. ;) And since yours is well written (and with images, thank you, thank you!) I feel comfortable with it. I would love to use this blue batik fabric I have to make this! I made a maxi skirt from it last winter & man was it comfy! :)

I like the fullness of your skirt, here, too. It seems that even when I double my fabric (for the waist of a skirt), I still end up with not much fullness. Not sure what the heck I do wrong, but it doesn't ever gather in a way that creates volume. Maybe I need to sew gathers or something?

Thanks again for the tutorial!
-Your newest follower,
KendraKendra from Crochet As You Arehttp://www.blogjob.com/crochetasyouare/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2654975491633172434.post-10472489168491582652014-08-18T05:03:52.308-05:002014-08-18T05:03:52.308-05:00The way you hid the elastic sounds interesting to ...The way you hid the elastic sounds interesting to me, maybe worth a try sometime.
