now & then: london olympics

i'm not sure about you, but i love the olympics!!! women's gymnastics is so nerve-wracking, yet i love rooting for those USA girls!

now i've got some fun facts for you all- the olympics was also hosted in london back in 1948. it was the first olympics right after the war... and they were on a hiatus since the 1936 games in berlin! that's 12 years between olympic games! crazy, right? here's my now & then for the london olympics:

Now & Then: Ballerinas

Ever since I was little, I have loved Impressionism. I grew up looking at art books that my Grandma gave me on Van Gogh, Monet, and one of my favorites- Degas. Now that I'm older, I can really appreciate learning about artists at a young age. I try to go to art museums in every city I visit and have seen some of these beauties in person! Some of my favorites of Degas' are right in my hometown (Chicago) at The Art Institute. His ballerina pictures are some of the most gorgeous paintings I've ever seen! Which brings me to today's Now & Then: Ballerinas...

i know you've seen this movie.

riding bikes with my radio cranked and strapped to the handlebars was one of my favorite things to do when i was a kid.

anyways! i would like to introduce a new segment called "Now & Then" featuring fun things from the past that translate to the present!
